I like the way Dan Holliday puts it clear at Quora: In a war between Russia and the US, with nukes, no one wins!
He analyses the devastating effects of the war (if it is to happen) as being "3,500 times Nagasaki (this excludes many other older nukes that, if they worked appropriately, would push this number way beyond 10,000 times Nagasaki)." by Russia and "no less than 30,000 times Nagasaki" by USA. Some try to predict that cockroaches will be winners, but the best bet is a probable extermination of life on Earth, and this would be the worst case scenario of a life ending on Earth!
