The Department of Astronomy seeks to appoint a full-time academic at the Lecturer level. Applications are sought from scientists whose research interests lie in Extragalactic Multi-Wavelength Astronomy. Preference will be given to applicants whose research interests include radio/HI observations of galaxies and complement or include existing extragalactic research programmes within the department. The department has close links with the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO) and the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) and the successful candidate will have access to MeerKAT through Open Time calls, collaborative programmes within existing MeerKAT Large Survey Projects, the South African share on SALT, and telescopes of the SAAO.
