We are extremely excited to invite you to register for free as a speaker or a volunteer, or to simply join us as an individual or as a group in our first virtual AIMS-IMAGINARY Math and Science Communication Event with the theme: ‘We Are AI! Into the World of Artificial Intelligence’ from the 03 – 04 December 2020. Use this link for more information.

This event is jointly organized by the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) and Quantum Leap Africa (QLA), in partnership with IMAGINARY, along the side-lines of the virtual Next Einstein Forum (NEF) Global Gathering with the theme: “Building Africa’s resilience through education, research, and innovation.”

The We Are AI event seeks to build inspiration and spread awareness on Artificial Intelligence technologies — their advances and sectoral applications, and contribute towards increasing the appreciation and uptake of AI concepts and its applications in academia, research, and society.

The event is aimed at students, researchers, and the general public worldwide. It combines talks and presentations with new methods of knowledge transfer, like games and interactive exhibits. The African public is especially invited to register and/or participate as speakers.

This AI virtual event will raise questions like:

What is AI?

How do different types of AI work?

How and where is AI currently used?

Is AI already around us?

How does AI affect us?

Should we be afraid of AI?

What is Africa’s involvement in AI?

How can you become an AI professional?

How does AI affect privacy in Africa?

The event will be visually interactive, inspiring, and also suitable for a broad audience.

The virtual nature of the event makes it possible for you to attend from any place as an individual or as a group, e.g. at your campus.
