Tanzanian opposition politician and 2020 presidential contestant Tundu Lissu has returned from exile in Belgium where he underwent treatment after he was gunned 16 times three years ago.

Lissu, a former politician with the CHADEMA main opposition party, was welcomed by hundreds of supporters, who clamoured around his car as he waved from an open sunroof on Monday, 27th July 2020.

Lissu, who was shot multiple times in a 2017 attack at Dodoma region, says he intends to contest this year's presidential election.
