Why storage memory comes in even number? 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16MB, 64MB etc.

Why storage memory comes in even number 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16MB, 64MB, ...?
I am not real sure if we can have that kind of representation in computing.The whole story is originated from the concept of BINARY, or if we can be very specific we can say DIGITAL Technology. Digital means, OF TWO VALUES, in this case we have 0 and 1, the two things computer understands.So in any case we would prefer something of base two, with the sense that, there will be two values that can be repeated several times to form a certain digital message.
