Code::Blocks is a cross-platform Integrated Development Environment (IDE), full-featured for C, C++, and Fortran programming. It is based on a self-developed plugin framework, and designed to be very extensible and fully configurable. Most of its functionality is already provided by plugins.

The easiest way to install a reasonably up-to-date version of Code::Blocks for Ubuntu Linux is from the Code::Blocks Release Builds PPA. To install Code::Blocks from the aforementioned PPA, execute the following lines in Terminal:

  1. sudo add-apt-repository ppa:damien-moore/codeblocks-stable
  2. sudo apt-get update
  3. sudo apt-get install codeblocks
