Kile is a TeX/LaTeX editor to edit TeX/LaTeX source code. It runs on Unix-like systems including Mac OS X and Linux, as well as Microsoft Windows via the KDE on Windows initiative, with the Qt and KDE libraries installed, see more>>>

Installing Kile package on Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerus) is achieved by running the following command on Terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install kile

To install Kile on Ubuntu 18.04 (Bionic Beaver) go to the next post.

For Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (Bionic), you can download and compile .deb package kile_2.9.91-4_amd64.deb (1.7 MiB) (amd64 build of kile 4:2.9.91-4 in ubuntu bionic PROPOSED) or kile_2.9.91-4_i386.deb (1.7 MiB) (i386 build of kile 4:2.9.91-4 in ubuntu bionic PROPOSED) from Binary package “kile” in ubuntu bionic

You can as well install the same release using apt install or using 32/64-bit deb package from https://www.ubuntuupdates.org/package/c ... /base/kile

If you're a Windows os user, check https://kile.sourceforge.io/download.php

Some archives may not be reachable especially, if internet connection is slow, you can try to install with --fix-missing:

  1. sudo apt -y install kile --fix-missing
