Telegram is a free and open source instant messaging app that is considered more secure in terms of privacy and data encryption than WhatsApp messenger and many other messaging apps. It comes out with numerous appealing features that enable a user to seamlessly do a range of activities (see more: https://www.quora.com/Is-Telegram-messe ... n-WhatsApp, https://www.quora.com/Is-the-Telegram-a ... -messenger).
There are two ways to install Telegram on Ubuntu Linux 16.04 or 14.04: Installing via a Canonical packaged application called Telegram snap and via PPA (A Personal Package Archive). Here we consider installation via PPA.
To do so, open the Terminal and run the following 3 commands one by one:
Code: Select all
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:atareao/telegram
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install telegram
Go to Unity Dash and type Telegram to launch and use it.
See the next post on how to install Telegram on any Ubuntu Linux distribution.
