Example: Mass, spring and damper system (example: Car suspension) with the corresponding Voltage source series RLC circuit .

Balance of forces in Mass, spring, damper system:

$m\ddot{x}+ D\dot{x} + Kx = F$

$m \frac{d^2 x}{dt^2} + D\frac{dx}{dt} +Kx = F$

Balance of voltages in RLC circuit:

$L\frac{di_L}{dt} + R i_{L} + u_{c} = U$

Comparing two balance equations, we get below relationship between two systems.

$F$ $\sim$ $U$
$v$ $\sim$ ${i_L}$
$m$ $\sim$ $L$
$\frac{1}{K}$ $\sim$ $C$
$D$ $\sim$ $R$
