Postdoctoral Positions at the University of Cambridge
Applications are invited for two postdoctoral positions to work in the group of David Tong at the University of Cambridge.
One position will be in lattice gauge theory, exploring ways to put chiral gauge theories on the lattice. The candidate is expected to have experience in Monte Carlo simulations.
The second position is open to researchers with broad interests in quantum field theory, including lattice gauge theory, topological phases of matter, strong coupling dynamics, supersymmetric theories, and string theory.
The successful candidates will have completed (or nearly completed) a PhD in Theoretical Physics or a closely related area prior to their appointment, and will have demonstrated a capacity to produce world-class research.
There will also be opportunities to collaborate with other theoretical physicists in Cambridge. These include Christopher Thomas and Matthew Wingate, working on lattice gauge theory, and many others working on more formal aspects of quantum field theory.
Appointment of the successful candidates is expected to start on, or before, 1 October 2021.
Informal inquiries can be made by contacting David Tong or use the alternative email address.
Fixed-term: 2 years
