Error Mounting dev/sdb1 at /media/...: Unknown Error:
This error has been discussed in various online forums and seems to be related to NTFS partitions and the Linux kernel. Specifically, it appears that NTFS partitions may not mount correctly in Linux kernel versions 6.8 and later.
To resolve this issue, follow these instructions:
1. Open a Linux terminal by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T.
2. In the terminal, type:
- sudo ntfsfix /dev/sdb1
4. You should see a message similar to the following:
- Mounting volume... $MFTMirr does not match $MFT (record 0).
- FAILED
- Attempting to correct errors...
- Processing $MFT and $MFTMirr...
- Reading $MFT... OK
- Reading $MFTMirr... OK
- Comparing $MFTMirr to $MFT... FAILED

- Processing of $MFT and $MFTMirr completed successfully.
- Setting required flags on partition... OK
- Going to empty the journal ($LogFile)... OK
- Checking the alternate boot sector... OK
- NTFS volume version is 3.1.
- NTFS partition /dev/sdb1 was processed successfully.
