Around 1990's, approximately 30 years ago, a young man, called Freshley Mwamburi, fell in love with a young girl, who was then a student at Kenyatta University in Kenya.

After graduating from Kenyatta University, Stella went to Japan to further her studies in medical sciences. Freshley sold everything he could to finance her fiancée's (Stella) studies in Japan, with an expectation of getting married to her immediately after she graduates and returns back home from Japan. It was 17th May 1992 when Freshly Mwamburi gathered a "bunch" of his relatives and friends and took a colourful entourage to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to receive her. As he was considering to have an enchanting life with the girl of his dreams, Freshley was heartbroke after seeing a surprising event - Stella, approaching him, carrying a kid and behind her was a Japanese man - "a stout, short man", as described by Mwamburi in the song, who Mwamburi then realized was Stella's husband with whom they had a kid with. Freshley then came up with a song " Stella Wangu" that very well describes his devastation:
