During TEDx Douglasville talk, Rory Vaden, a self-discipline strategist and New York Times bestselling author, shares thoughts about time management and how to multiply time. According to him, although all we know about time-management is logical, today's time management is no longer logical, as it used to be, instead, how we choose to spend our time is also emotional.

The problem of time has now moved from managing it, to person's self-management. He however, adds that, today's thinking about time management is no longer two-dimensional, as often decided by urgency (how soon does it matter?) and importance (how much does it matter?), that formed a basis for prioritizing tasks, but is based on a new type of thinking generated by time multipliers, where time-management calculations depend also on a third dimension, that's significance (how long does it (going to) matter?). He emphasizes, the only way we can multiply our time today, is by giving ourselves emotional permission to spend time on things today that will give us more time tomorrow, which he calls significance calculation. He adds, we create and multiply time much more by what we decide not to do today, than on things we decide to do. When we say yes to one thing, we simultaneously say no to infinite number of things.

More importantly, he explains why task elimination, automation, delegation and procrastinating on purpose is the key to being able to multiply your time. We can achieve perfection not only when we add something new but also by taking away other things.
