Atoms contain three sub-atomic particles called protons, neutrons and electrons. The protons and neutrons are found in the nucleus at the center of the atom. The nucleus is very much smaller than the atom as a whole. The electrons are arranged in various energy levels around the nucleus.
This video explains how chemistry can tell us how these three tiny particles, the proton, neutron and electron come together in trillions of combinations to form everything we see in the Universe including ourselves!
