MPhil/PhD Scholarship: Stochastic Modelling with Environmental Applications

The project, funded by VC’s scholarship, plans to develop stochastic point process models based on Hidden Markov and doubly stochastic Poisson processes to model environmental time series. One of the objectives will focus on expanding the existing class of stationary models to a non­stationary domain, to incorporate time-varying covariates in the modelling, which would enable us to make more accurate inferences and tackle the problem of extremes.
