If you like to geek with Linux, the vim, pronounced as 'vi' is the best editor because it works with all Linux distributions. In addition, vim lets you master and advance skills beyond the basic features of the most editors, which in turn will escalate your ability to use unix commands to interact with desktops and servers, such as using slurm resource manager. You can install 'vi' from here.


For Ubuntu/Debian, install vim by typing
