Good answer Janeth to mr John, but what erases completely the deleted files is to replace by another file which will replace tree like path which OS will be using to find the file otherwise deleted file will be held virtually but not visible to OS.

Your deleted files or folder in Windows operating systems will be saved in recycle bin, but in Linux operating systems they will be stored in the Trash until you delete them completely from it or restore them.
