A mathematical historian, Professor Peter Turchin, has predicted that sweeping political turmoil and social unrest could result in the collapse of the world as we know, causing society to end in less than a decade.
Professor Peter Turchin, from University of Connecticut’s department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, is a world-class expert on cliodynamics, a research method that combines mathematics and complexity science to predict historical events, such as the growth and collapse of empires or religions.
A professor warned the society to expect many years of political turmoil, that would reach a peak in 2020s. He added that, his prediction is a scientific forecast, based on solid social science, and not a prophecy. Read more.
